It was ugly, and slow, and we're talking about the scoring process after the tournament had concluded. As painful as the process was, we now have two brackets and ready to play. Because of the prospects for bad weather on Sunday, we had postponed the first round. Now, players have until June 5th to get their first match in. So, please work to that into your respective schedules.
Because we made a big change to the format of the tournament, we will be closely monitoring the results of the matches. Over the past few years, a large number of matches were not competitive (not making it even to the 13th or 14th holes). This year, we're hoping to witness more competitive matches. Thanks to all of those who participated, and sorry for the delay and possible confusion that ensued in the scoring process (that will be addressed).
Of course, if results are not favorable with respect to how the tournament plays out over the year, we'll look to revert to something more like the traditional format (like 80% of course handicap for instance).
Notes:
Scoring was higher than average (mostly due to poor weather and long rough). A net 71 got a team at least a playoff in the full handicap flight. A net 78 got a team into at least a playoff in the 1/2 handicap flight. Thus, any team that shot at least a net 70 or better (full handicap) qualified.
Below is the bracket. We'll be keeping up with the matches, and will communicate highlights as the tournament progresses. Please note that your score from Saturday will be posted by the pro shop. Be sure to post your scores throughout the season.
