Morton scores an ace in Hawaii!!

We just heard that Jim Morton scored his first ace on the island of Maui - at the Kaanapali, Royal Course!!  A six iron ino the wind, and to an elevated green 171 yards from the tee.  Congrats to Jim.

CCSA Mulligan Open / March 11th / Sign up in the Events Tab in Foretees

For those of you wondering what type of score you may be able to post if you were able to "re-hit" a shot or two (or five), then this tourney is for you.  Even Happy Gilmore could potentially go low in this format.  Here are the basic rules:

Play you own golf ball.  You get one mulligan per hole (anywhere on the course).  The mulligan is a must go (if you play a mulligan, you have to play the mulligan).  This format is open to men, women, and all ranges of handicaps.  Aditional details will be out soon.

Benefits of Winter Golf...

One of the benfits of playing winter golf in places like Florida is being able to appreciate the ability to actually find your golf ball in the "junk", and at least have the potential to hit it back into play - something that is not usually a choice on our home courses in the summer time.

We didn't say it would necessarily be easy, however.  Above, Sean Conaway grapples with the laws of physics as he tries to hit his golf ball that is resting on the other side of a tree.  Now, those of you that regularly play with Sean know that he is always right down the middle of the fairway - so this type of picture would be thought to be rare.   If you have some interesting golf shots of your own that you'd like to share, please send them (along with some appropriate captioning) to ccsagolf@me.com.

Important Golf Dates for 2012

A full schedule with all of the men's and women's tournaments will soon be released...

Above: Rob Sedorcek, Gateway PGA's 2011 Teacher of the Year, is helping Bob LePoire tune up his game before an important round, it appears.  You can schedule a lesson with Rob via Foretees, or through the pro shop.

The Mulligan Tournament will be a "pre-season" affair where each player will be granted one mulligan per hole (anywhere on the course), but the mullie is of the "must go" variety.  We will have flights for men and women.  Sign up will be through Foretees.
