Reminder: 2-Man Progressive Tournament Qualifier, May 5th

32 teams have signed up thus far (as of 4/22).  Sign up on Foretees in the events tab.  If you're looking for a playing parter, the pro shop will be more than happy to facilitate with strategic team formation.  

Format & Notes:

• Two man best ball (at 80% course handicap) for qualifying score on Tavern Creek
• Top 30 teams qualify for the progressive match play tournament
• 1st round of matches on the following Sunday on Lewis & Clark
• The two bracket winners from last year automatically qualify for this year

18 holes of golf and 9 BIRDIES! Raj Bhuyan had a remarkable day on Tavern Creek Thursday, April 19th. Playing the Gold Tees he carded a 66, which is a great score on its own, but he did it with birdies on 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11, 15, 16 and 17. He had an opportunity for a 10th birdie when he was greenside in two on #18 but failed to convert the up and down. Great going Raj all I need is 4 shots a side for us to have a match. Joe

CCSA members invade Scotland...

Mitch Leonard, Tim Williamson, Sid Kent and Doc Schneider recently came back from a trip to Scotland, and were kind enough to share some of the "action shots" with us.  Our personal favorite was the one with TW actually using a wedge (not a putter) while in a bunker.  Thanks.

Willis & Rozell look to defend their title...

Ken Willis and Bob Rozell (see their mugs below) will look to defend their title in CCSA's 2-man progressive tournament.  The qualifier is on Saturday, May 5th.  Sign up via ForeTees.  If you're looking for a partner, the pro shop will be more than happy to help.

2-Man Progressive Qualifier format:

• 2-man best ball score at 80% of course handicap for all teams

• Top 30 teams will qualify (ties will be resolved via playoff on the spot)

• Round one matches (four ball) for the qualifiers will start on the next day (5/6)

Jovie Time unveiled - The new CCSA clock

Bill Henrich, Bob Shanteau and Larry Glennon dedicated the clock to CCSA and the Guilvezan family tonight.  The clock looks spectacular, and also appears to be "out of play" for nearly all golfers at the club.  Special thanks to all of those who helped organize & finance this project, and to Jim Nienhaus and Bill Ashby (and his staff) for the fine installation. 

Bubba's Shot at the Masters...

We've checked the membership roster and believe only one left-handed golfer at the club, Scott Engelbrecht, can hook a shot to such a degree.  Of course, we're using a sample of his daily play as evidence of such an ability.

New clock to be dedicated on 4/13 @ 7:00PM

"The clock will be installed one day next week and immediately covered so this will be the first "sighting".  Jovie and his family would be very pleased to see as many of you attend as possible. We expect we will be outside to upwards of an hour or so with hors d'oeuvres/drinks and then many of us will retire to the Club where we have reserved some tables on the Veranda.  If you think you might want to join inside, give David Derfel a heads up this week. Please make plans to join us in a toast to our very special friend."
